disney cruise (and the rest of the vacation) vacation part one (by JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABE)

I got up early in the morning. My bags were already packed. The taxi had just arrived. I got my bags and hopped in. The taxi driver was telling us about how he caught a 900-something tuna using a cord and his hands. It took him 3 hours about to catch it. While he was talking, I was playing Pokémon GO.(isn't everyone?). When we got there, I got my bags out of the cab, and walked into the airport. It was pretty busy. The security line took a very long time, because someone hid their laptop or something. When we got past security, I had breakfast at Boston Beerworks. When we boarded the plane, I turned on the TV, only to be interrupted by a flight safety announcement. Eventually, the announcement finished, and we took off! My brother Lem got the window seat, so I just watched TV and played Tetris. When we landed, I got off, went to baggage claim, picked up my bags, and tried to find the Disney magic bus. When I got there, my family were the last people to get on the bus.

When we got to the boat, I had to go through security again. When we FINALLY got on the boat, my grandma hugged me (which is what she always does when she sees me). The boat was HUGE! It had 13 floors accessible to the public,; it was as long as the Eiffel tower is tall! It has 3 pools, (1 for grownups), 1 hot tub, 2 slides, 1 of which wraps around 3/4ths of the boat. The other wraps around mickeys hand.(I'm serious.) It has a kids club, a teens club that sounds really fun, and a detective agency! (for kids)

When we got to our rooms, we had to unpack. After we unpacked, we went up to the top of the boat to watch it depart. I got lost, so mom went and found me. After that, I ate dinner while I was searching the horizon for signs of life. My brother and my cousin both were contemplating life, and I was shoveling food into my mouth. Eventually, I got tired and went to bed. When we got up, I ate breakfast and got ready for day #1. During the day, I got to go to kids club, where the basically just give you a bunch of video games, and leave you to your own devices. When we got back, I ate lunch, and then went to see the BFG. It was a pretty good movie, but the beginning was a bit vague. My favorite part was when the dogs drank the fizzle-whizz (or whatever it is called) and then they farted across the room. When we finished watching the movie, my brothers got to do the detective agency, but I didn't get to, because we ran out of time. After that, I went to see Aladdin, the play. In it, it was a partially modernized version of Aladdin. The genie was my favorite part. He was funny. Not bland, not boring, just funny. After watching it, I watched the ocean and the lightening until I fell asleep.

It was going to be very fun! we were going to be doing... oops, I cant reveal that information yet. It's strictly confidential. Mom drove me to camp that day. I was playing Pocket God on the way. It's a fun game where you...  oops, I cant tell you that. Anyways, when I got there, me and Lem had to wait... oops I forgot. (fake British accent) grammar details. It's actually Lem and I. You wouldn't say "me had to wait". (end fake British accent) Anyways... when we got there, Lem and I had to wait for the gem car because Lem nb nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnjmnmjjhhhhhhhvvcc           b          nm

OH NO! I FELL ASLEEP! AND Caps lock was on!
We were waiting for the gem car because lem sprained his ankle. He was on crutches. We rode over the drumlin to get to our campsite. (Oh yeah, we were camping at Drumlin Farm) Opabinia. Why did I type that? Anyways, when we got there, the counselors started an a c t I v I t I e ! oops. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I messed up a bit there.

New York Natural History Museum, April 2015, by Hank

"I am so excited! We're going to the Natural History Museum!" I exclaimed to my family as we walked out of Central Park. Finally, we got there.

I saw a large room with dinosaur bones built together and I saw a really long line of people in front of a desk with people buying tickets. I could hear people talking as they moved their way through the line.

There was a really long line to get in. So my mom waited in the line while me, my dad, and my brothers saw some dinosaur bones! They were of two dinosaurs, and it looked like they were about to fight. After that my mom got us a map and we went to the first exhibit.

I had a grin on my face as I thought about all the cool stuff we were going to see!

I walked into a sea exhibit, and the first thing I saw was a giant model of a blue whale that was hanging from the ceiling and it went from one side of the room to the other! Then I saw sea lions, and they were so cute! After that I walked up the stairs into a waterbear exhibit and got a waterbear stuffed animal. It was really cute!

After that I walked past a big exhibit about Native Americans. Then we saw an Easter Island statue, and we took a picture with it. Next, we walked into a dinosaur exhibit and there were models of dinosaurs and there was a film about dinosaurs. There also was a chart about evolution and things that evolved into different things. There also was something about a reptile that evolved into dinosaurs. There also were computers that when you touched a picture of a dinosaur it showed you what it evolved into. "This is so cool," I half-whispered, half-said to my family. Then we walked to a place where there were things that weighed you and showed you how much you would weigh on a planet, star, or moon. We also watched a movie about dark matter, dark energy, and matter. Then we went to an exhibit about rocks and minerals and saw a cool room that had some rocks and minerals in it. There was a section of glow-in-the-dark rocks and minerals. A light was on them for about six seconds to make the rocks and minerals glow. Next, we walked over to a section about radioactive rocks and minerals, and there was another room that had pretty gems in it. There was a gem called The Star of India. I saw some rose quartz, diamonds, sapphires, peridots, and quartz.

Then we went to a different place about meteorites. I have a theory that meteorites are messages sent by aliens. Also all the meteorites in there were metal. They were nice and cool, and when you touched the meteorites and took your hand off, your hand smelled like metal.

"These exhibits were all so amazing!" I said. We headed out of the Natural History Museum and started to walk to our hotel. The next day we started to pack for our trip home. We got on the train and headed home. "I hope we can come again soon!" I sighed happily as we pulled into the train station. Then we walked to the train that would take us home.

Our Early Summer New Hampshire Trip, Part One, by Hank

On Friday in the morning, we packed for the New Hampshire trip. Mom taught her yoga class, and we all packed for the trip. Then we got in the car and headed off. We listened to an audio book in the car. It was Spirit Animals Book Two. Lem and I already read it. For lunch we were still on the road so we stopped at a nearby town called Lincoln, New Hampshire. We found a McDonald's so we went inside and ordered our food. Mom, Dad, and I had a crispy chicken buttermilk sandwich (#5), Jabe and Lem had 10 piece chicken nuggets (#7). Then we headed farther along down the road.

We stopped at Lost River and we looked at the weather rock. It was a rock hanging on a chain attached to a wooden pole. Hot = sunny, wet = rainy, white = snowy, moving = windy. The rock was warm. Then we bought our tickets and walked on the path to the first cave. It was a sun altar. Then we saw a configuration of rocks shaped like Fenris the wolf. The next cave is called Cave of Odin. Next, we climbed up the stairs to see Paradise Falls. It was beautiful. Then we went through the next cave, which was called Devil's Kitchen, and there was a rock in there that was shaped like the Devil's table. Then the next cave was called Cave of Silence because you couldn't hear Paradise Falls very well. It was also cool down there. You could see your breath. I was shushing everyone because it was called Cave of Silence so I thought that it meant that everyone had to be silent but I was joking too. Then Dad and I looked at the giant pothole. It wasn't active, but it was still amazing! Then I went in a cave called the Center of the Earth. One of the walls had a little bit of water trickling down from it. Most of the caves are lit with a lantern with fire in the middle. The cave I went in next was called Parallel Rocks because the walls were parallel to each other. There was a pretty long ladder down to the floor of the cave. Then you walk to the exit which is a pretty narrow hole in the wall which - when I was watching Dad go through - it looked like if he was a little bit bigger he might've gotten stuck! I went through the exit and walked on.

After that, we went on Elysian Land which was a path that Dad requested because it was Fathers' Day weekend. We walked around a vernal pool, but it wasn't active. It was just a little damp, and there was a tiny puddle that was the vernal pool. Then we walked over to the Lemon Squeezer. To go through it, first, you go through the wood that shows you if you are able to do the cave. At the widest part, it was 18 inches. Next, there was an annoying rock right before a narrow opening with two narrow foot holes. You have to climb through the opening in the rocks to get in the cave and crawl to the exit which can also be the start of the Dungeon cave. For the entrance to Dungeon, you have to crawl under an opening and crawl to another opening. Jabe thought it was a dead end and that you had to swim out, but he didn't actually. We realized that you had to crawl in a very small opening which you had to crawl on your stomach and hands to get the exit. After that we walked over to the Bear Crawl. We worked our way through it and walked to the next cave. The next cave was called The Judgement Hall of Pluto. When we crawled in we saw an amazing sight! It was a waterfall! It was about 19 feet tall! It was magnificent! It was also the biggest waterfall inside a cave in New England! We walked out of the cave and walked over to the next thing. It was a rock shaped like the United States of America. It was fascinating! To see it, you had to climb up a few ledges made of wood. The next cave was called Shadow Cave. It was the cave that mom had the most trouble on getting through it. To get through it, first, you had to walk to a part where you had to walk sideways and squeeze through the narrow opening. Then you had to climb up a pretty hard ladder before reaching the top. When we got out of Shadow Cave, we walked over to a place with a beautiful view of the mountains! It as up high, so you could see them better. Then we walked back to our car, got back on the road, and drove off.

After about five minutes, we reached The Basin (which is an active pothole). We got out of our car and walked on a short path that took us to the Basin. It was wondrous! It was marvelous! It was fabulous! There were two places where the water could move down the river. One was before the next. The first one carried about a quarter of the water coming from the small but rapid waterfall above the Basin. The second one carried about half of the water down into the river. Also a quarter of the water was swept back around in a circle to be carried down the river or back around the Basin. It was amazing! Then we walked over to a river and dipped our hands into the water. It was freezing! After that, we went back to our car. Dad donated a dollar to a place that helped ensure that the Basin would keep running.

Then we drove to our cabin. It was luxurious. Then we went to Saco River. Jabe, Lem, and Dad went exploring and Mom had to leave to go get groceries so before then we tried to find this type of rock that looked like it had an eyeball on it and we called them "eyeball rocks". Then she left and then suddenly Jabe and Lem yelled out that they found a quarter of an automobile under the water! I raced toward them to see it. Dad showed it to me and how it was stuck on a pile of rocks. It was the front of an automobile. Then we walked to the pool. We had a competition to see what volleyball we would use. Jabe got cold so he went back to the cabin while Lem and I played with different balls in the pool. Then we walked back and had dinner which was spaghetti and meatballs. We watched TV, took our baths, ate s'mores, wrote or read and then fell asleep in bed.

This weekend I went to new Hampshire. At New Hampshire I went to lost river and climbed in some caves. Later I went to story land and rode on a lot of rides. I left New Hampshire next morning. Later that day, I went to see "Matilda" and it was really funny.

Howe's Cavern, July 11, 2016 Part One by Hank

We were going to Howe Caverns but Dad messed up the laundry. So we had to wait an extra hour for the laundry to dry before we did the four hour drive to Howe Caverns. Finally, we got there and we got tickets for the Howe Caverns. Then we went into the sweet shop and got fudge but we ordered a different type of fudge than they gave us because we got maple walnut and that wasn't what we ordered. We got maple walnut and chocolate fudge. We got in line to go to Howe Caverns and we walked in. There was a fake statue of Howe that had a speaker. He told us a story about Howe Caverns and how it was discovered. The statue of Howe looked really creepy because its eye holes weren't aligned and its eyelashes were too long and its mouth didn't move when the speaker talked but hung open instead. It really looked like a dead body. He talked about how one of his cows named Millicent who was grazing on his friend's land found Howe Caverns because the cow stood there every day and put its face into the hole because it was really cool down there on a hot summer day so it cooled Millicent off. Howe bought the land for Millicent by giving her a big kiss and some extra feed. His friend let him have the land including the caves for $100. He did tours there. They usually took eight or nine hours. Ours only took one hour.

After that, we went to the cave through an elevator and a few sets of stairs and then we were in Howe Caverns. The first thing I saw was a bunch of stalactites. We also saw the Chinese Pagoda, which was a giant stalagmite with holes in it that looked like windows. Then we walked over to the petting zoo which was actually two stalagmites - the only two in the caverns that you were allowed to touch. One of them looked like a howling wolf and one of them looked like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Then we walked over to a flowstone that looked like a turtle. It grew so large that there was a small stream running around it but it grew so big that it cut that off and so now it doesn't grow anymore. Then there was a rock that was shaped like a witch with another witch under it. And if you looked from farther away you could see another witch in front of that witch. Then we got our picture taken near an oddly shaped stalagmite.

                It should have been frantic, but everyone learns, I guess. 6:05, Friday, June 17th, 2016 (duh about that last one). Oops, I should explain WTO (What The Opabinia) I'm talking about. We were packing for our NH trip. We were going to stay in   We ended up with chillax time (well, except for Jabe, because he slept in). I used that time in the hammock. I was thinking about life and purpose. And after long and deep thought, I found that the meaning and purpose of life is... oops, I have to stay on topic. So anyway, we had to wait for Mom to come home, and the suspense was unbearable.
                   When mom finally did get home, Jabe hadn't finished packing! This time though, it wasn't  suspense. It was just boredom. nf nfvvvvvvvvvzbehhbhjvbhvbhhbvbnbbh jhebvbhhbhbburevgyuvbhgyryg OH NO!!!!!!! i FELL ASLEEP!!!!!!!! UM, DO i HAVE CAPS LOCK ON? THIS IS A TEST NHGNGRYEYRFGFTERGRGFGKYUGFGYJGTYSEYGFTSEJYTGRTGHTGYHSGYRBG  i GUess I did have  CAPS LOCK on.
                    After a long struggle, we finally  got into the car. At the start, we went on the same route that we took for Kung Fu, but when we turned onto the highway, it stopped being the same. On the way, we listened to spirit animals book two. Somewhere on the highway, I decided to pretend to pick up vehicles. I got an excavator, an oil truck, and HUGE trucks, and with them I... DARN I HAVE TO STAY ON TOPIC11I FORGOT I HAD CAPS LOCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
                    Anyway, around that time, my brothers got chaotic. They were wrestling slappyfighting,  and doing other weird things I can't remember. Mm had to talk to them, but they didn't stop for a while. After that, the ride got more tranquil. We continued listening  to the book. It was good, but that came to an end when... Oh, it's 10:23! I'll tell you later.         
                   Now where was I? Oh yeah. The good times came to an end when we got...hungry! As normal on road trips, we went to McDonald's. Hank ordered a crispy buttermilk chicken sandwich and a medium fountain drink, Jabe and I both ordered 10 piece chicken nuggets with a medium fountain drink, and mom and dad both ordered a crispy buttermilk chicken sandwich with a small fountain drink. We got a break from the car, and the only problem was the constant noise of the air dryers.
                    We got back on the road, and it was calm for a while. As  should be expected by now, it got more chaotic. We had a vote on which cave place to go to. Naturally, my idea didn't stand, so I was a little bit frustrated. After that, we lapsed back into calm.
                     Surprisingly, we survived the trip to lost river. When we got there, I was worried about the heat, but I would have worse worries. Jabe was suddenly interested in collecting rocks (even now I don't know why). Mom explained why it was called lost river. After that, we went to the "base".
                     When we started, I thought that the caves would be close to where we were. That image was quickly shattered, and if it weren't for the view, I would have given up. Once we had gotten to the first cave, I was a little disappointed. I had remembered that cave being more exciting. Still, a cave is a cave, and the cave, while not being all that fun, was still awesome.
                      After that, the view and the caves got better. On the 6th cave, it started with a really tall and steep ladder. After that, there was a nice cool rock. Then there was a low passageway. It was followed by 2 similar passages. Finally, we came upon a precariously wet ladder.

I HAVE TO STAY ON TOPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aNYWAYS, we did that cave twice more. I could explain more of the other caves, but it has been a month, and most of them were not interesting enough. On the lemon squeezer, we had to go through a small wooden gap to enter. There were more tight squeezes, but the worst had yet to come.
                     That cave fed into another cave. It was called... THE DUNGEON. I said the worst had yet to come in the last paragraph, and this was the place. We went into a chamber, and I could not find the exit. Jabe did though.
                     It was then that I saw the exit. It was the smallest exit in all the caves, but I still thought I could do it. After Jabe went through but before I did, I saw Mom, Dad, and Hank! Then, I went through and it wasn't much trouble. Of course, we did it twice more.
                     At the last cave... oh sorry, I played with the settings. Anyways, mom lost her sunglasses. My cut(remember this for later) was healing. After more awesome stuff, we made it back to the car.
                     We were taking a very scenic route through the mountains. There were lots of  scenic overlooks, and Pokémon Go! hadn't been invented yet. The forests and mountains were amazing. As usual, we were going on the Kancamagus highway. This time, I didn't know exactly where we were going.
                     We came to a small town, and I was confused about why. Then I realized that was where the cabin was. When we drove in, I was hyper. The wait was unbearable. Eventually, we made it into the cabin.
